A number of foreign accident investigation authorities have produced some outstanding analyses of icing incidents, such as the two Australian Saab 340 events and the BAe ATP upset near Cowly, England in 1991. Additionally, the role of icing in five jet transport events has been documented by Canadian authorities in Air Canada flights 571, 646, 457 and 1130, as well as Canadian 48. It is worth pointing out that, as in many other cases, the ice protection system was not utilized in three of the five jet cases.
